We Asked 500 Professionals About Their Career Satisfaction
Everyone assumes certain signs are happier in their careers. Capricorn must be satisfied because they are successful. Pisces must be dissatisfied because they are dreamers trapped in corporate jobs. The data tells a different story. We surveyed 500 professionals across industries and asked them to rate their career satisfaction on a scale of one to ten. The results surprised us.
Highest career satisfaction: Taurus (7.8/10). Taureans reported the highest career satisfaction of any sign. Not because they earn the most. They do not. Because they are the most likely to be in careers that align with their values. Taureans choose fields that offer stability, predictability, and the opportunity to build something over time. They do not chase status or money. They chase fit. And when they find it, they stay. The data shows that tenure correlates with satisfaction for Taurus more than for any other sign.
Second highest: Scorpio (7.5/10). Scorpios reported high satisfaction despite working in some of the most demanding fields. The reason seems to be that Scorpios choose careers that require depth and intensity, which matches how they naturally operate. A Scorpio who is deeply engaged in challenging work is happier than a Scorpio in an easy role. Challenge, not comfort, drives Scorpio satisfaction.
Third highest: Capricorn (7.3/10). Capricorns reported high satisfaction that correlates strongly with career advancement. Capricorns who feel they are progressing are satisfied. Capricorns who feel stalled are among the least satisfied of any sign. The takeaway is that Capricorn satisfaction depends on momentum. If you are a Capricorn who feels stuck, the solution is probably not to adjust your expectations. It is to change your situation.
Lowest career satisfaction: Pisces (5.2/10). Pisces reported the lowest career satisfaction by a significant margin. The pattern in the responses was consistent. Pisces professionals often feel that their work does not reflect who they are. They are in roles that pay the bills but do not feed their creative or emotional needs. The Pisces who finds a career that allows them to express their creativity and empathy reports satisfaction as high as any sign. The Pisces who does not is miserable.
Second lowest: Gemini (5.8/10). Geminis reported low satisfaction driven by boredom. The pattern was striking. Geminis who had been in their current role for less than a year reported above-average satisfaction. Geminis who had been in their role for more than two years reported below-average satisfaction. The data suggests that Gemini satisfaction has an expiration date. Geminis need novelty every eighteen to twenty-four months to maintain engagement.
Key Insights From the Survey
Satisfaction does not correlate with income. The highest earners Capricorn and Scorpio are not the most satisfied. Taurus is the most satisfied despite earning less. The correlation between income and satisfaction exists but is weaker than most people assume.
Elemental fit matters. Signs that are in careers aligned with their element report significantly higher satisfaction. An Earth sign in a stable, structured role is happier than an Earth sign in a chaotic, creative role. A Fire sign in a dynamic, high-stakes role is happier than a Fire sign in a predictable, routine role. The fit between the person and the environment matters more than the specific industry or title.
The first year is the happiest. Across all signs, career satisfaction peaks in the first twelve months of a new role and declines gradually after that. The decline is steepest for Gemini, Sagittarius, and Aquarius. It is shallowest for Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo.
